With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marvin Jay Folkema of Fremont, Michigan, born in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, who passed away on April 20, 2022 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father John Folkema; his son Roger Folkema; his children-in-law, Clara, Harry Vandenberg, Gertrude, John Dykstra, Dorothy, John Scott, Henry Koning and Jeanette; and also, Marinus Meeuwenberg (M. J.), William Buchanan and John J. Folkema.
He is survived by: his wife Donna VanWylen; his children, Morris Folkema (Lois) and Ruth Huff, Jr. (Ben); his daughter-in-law Mary Folkema; and his sister Betty Harmsen. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson.
Memorials: The Fremont Area Community Foundation for either the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund, or for the Second Christian Reformed Church Endowment Fund.
