He was predeceased by: his parents, John DeKuiper and Gwen DeKuiper (Griswold); his close friend Dave; his son Daniel DeKuiper; and his sister Janet Ward.

He is survived by: his wife LuAnn Hayes; his daughter Mandi DeKuiper; his daughter-in-law Clorissa DeKuiper; his grandson Donaven DeKuiper; his sisters, Dyann Hasselman (Larry), Karen Bonczyk (Phil), Joan DeKuiper and Kay Castillo (Ray); and his close friend Tammy Snyder. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the Newaygo County Compassion Home.
