Lori Williford wrote a sympathy message

“Bert as well as Alice and Ed, Ann, and Martha were special family and church friends while I was growing up and afterwards. We always met for different occasions. New Years Day Brunch at the Vermeulen's, Christmas Eve at the Wallis's before the Christmas Eve service, as well as just getting together. The whole family had remarkable humor, which goes long way in our family and Bert was a great minister. Our thoughts and prayers from the Wallis family.”
