He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Scherzer and Dorothy Scherzer (Krauss); and his sister Judy Evans. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Knoerr; his sons, Mason Scherzer, Mitch Scherzer (Tracy) and Marty Scherzer (Janene); his grandchildren, Benjamin, Lydia and Luke; and his sisters, JoAnne Rohn and Kay Lowry.
