With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alex Papes of Free Soil, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 10, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph and Angela; his wife Kay Johnson; his niece Evelyn Malcomnsen; and his brothers, James (Marie), Joseph (Doris), John (Sophie), Steve (Dorothy) and Charles (Doris).
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Marie Boguszewski, Mike Malcomnsen, Eugene Papes (Val), Tony Papes (Linda), Jim Papes (Laura), David Papes (Lynda), Richard Papes, Donna Quinlan (Phil), Jerome Papes (Sandy), Joyce Lokovich (Jim), Tom Papes (Willette), John Papes (Pat), Ann Banwell (Bob), Alice McDonald (Mike), Steve Papes (Mary), Ed Papes (Kathy), Ken Papes (Cindy), Christy Durham (Bob) and Shari Sikkenga (David).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Free Soil or to Hospice of Michigan.
