She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Robert Tainter and Dorothy Tainter; her husband Franklin; her children, Sheila Sweeting (Doug), Aaron VanVoorst (Tamara) and Micah Van Voorst (Chelsea Hirdning); her grandchildren, James, Samantha, Alex and Jack; and her siblings, Joan Wieck (Keith), Shirley Baldridge (Tim), Richard Tainter, Gordon Tainter (Judy Melton) and Tom Tainter (Elaine). She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
