He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ken, Tom and Marjorie. He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginny" Hannewald; and his sons, Jeff and Scott (Angela).

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crystal Lake Sailing School and the Animal Welfare League of Benzie County.
