He was predeceased by: his father T. W. Johnston; his wife Leila Johnston; his son Scott Johnston; and his stepdaughter Kelly Talarico. He is survived by: his daughter Anne McDaniel (Allen); his stepdaughters, Karen Palomares and Kathy Szuch (Kevin); his grandchildren, Julie, Joe, Jenni of Melissa, DJ, Haley, Trevor, Rebecca, Ashlee, Elizabeth, Christian and Seth; and his brothers, David Johnston (Carol) and Thomas Johnston (Mary). He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
