He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Michael (Robert), Laurie Root (Richard) and Kelley Tagget (Tom); his grandchildren, Nathan Root (Lindsay), Jacob Michael (Amanda Broadworth), Trent Michael, Mitchell Keller, Leslee Chapman (Jarrod) and Phillip Keller; and his great grandchildren, Brandon Root, Justin Root, Nora Chapman, Ezra Chapman and Jackson Michael. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
