She was predeceased by: her parents, James William and Emily Eleanor VanCamp (Kirkpatrick); and her brother-in-law Logan Sturgeon. She is survived by: her husband Mark Platte of Fowler, MI; her sons, Brandon (Kate Platte) and Kirk (Danielle Platte); her grandchildren, Turner, Barrett, Milo, Cambell, Jack, Logan, Nolan and Cora; and her siblings, Carol Sturgeon of Warren, OH, James (Kathy VanCamp), William (Debbie VanCamp) and Joel (Sue VanCamp).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, Lansing, Fowler Fire Department, and Hospice House of Mid- Michigan or a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
