He was predeceased by: his parents, Roman J. Thelen and Helen Thelen (Schmidt); his wife Carol Frechen; his siblings, Susie, Shirley, Eldon, Dennis, Ronald and Keith; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Trierweiler, Patty Schafer, Richard Frechen, Don Robison and LeRoy Schafer.
He is survived by: his children, Connie, Richard LaFontaine of Midland, MI, James Thelen of Fowler, MI and Michelle (Terry Smith); his grandchildren, Donald, Kendra Weishuhn of North Carolina, Joseph Smith, Kim English of St. Johns, MI, Katherine Smith of Fowler, MI, Rebecca Smith of Fowler, MI and Nicholas Smith of Fowler, MI.; his great grandchildren, Eliza and Carter Weishuhn; his brother Neil (Fran Thelen); and his siblings-in-law, Bernice Robison, Sharon Brown, JoAnn Irrer, Kay Frechen, Pam Thelen and Chuck Trierweiler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
