It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joel Platzer (Fort Gratiot, Michigan), born in Port Huron, Michigan, who passed away on November 20, 2019, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Platzer and Sally Platzer; his mother-in-law Sharon; his siblings-in-law, Calvin and Sabrina; and his nephews, Renoir and Jacques.

He is survived by: his former wife Suzanne French; his friend Bar; his wife Sue; his brother Ron; his siblings-in-law, Michael, Hal, MaryBeth and Heather (Wayne); his nieces and nephews, Jac (Tiffany), Patrick, Spencer, Nico, Iver, Nina (Chad), Katey (Matt) and McKenzie; his aunt Mary (John); and his uncle Jody (Cindy).

The family prefers memorial contributions to be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Port Huron Hospital or Mid City Nutrition.
