It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Ward of Fort Gratiot, Michigan, born in Port Huron, Michigan, who passed away on July 24, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ambrose Mechan and Emily Mechan; her daughter Shelley Yielding; her siblings, Wilfrid Mechan, Bernard Mechan, Edward Mechan, Fred Mechan, Jenny Krueger, Marie Hunter, Mildred Sikes, Josephine Hess, Ann Deckert and Charlotte Klietch; and her close friend Mona Cook (Charles).
She is survived by: her husband John Ward; her children, Linda Broomfield, Michael Ward (Stacy), Jill Thieman (Michael) and Jayne Wiertalla (Mark); and her sister Beverly Thorley (Gary). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
