He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hartwell and Judy Hartwell; his son Alan Richard Hartwell II; and his brother Buddy Hartwell. He is survived by: his children, Amanda Herrera and Kyle Hoskins; and his siblings, Jim Hartwell and Diane Schaudt. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
