He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Brooks-Taebel; his children, Tim Taebel, Larry Brooks, Karen Czerkies (Billy) and Patricia Thornton; his grandchildren, Coen, Emily, Sophie and Chyenne; and his siblings, Tina Smith and Tim Taebel (Marsha).
