It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Laverne Johnson of Flushing, Michigan, who passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Orland Johnson and Mildred Johnson (Tice); his wife Ruth Johnson; his son Thomas Johnson of Remus; and his grandson Mark Johnson II.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Wilson of Traverse City, Mark (Pamela Johnson) of Clio, Stephen (Cheryl Johnson) of Oscoda, Timothy (Mary Beth Johnson) of Flushing and Elizabeth (Mark Butler) of Brighton; his daughter-in-law Sharry Johnson; and his nephew Larry Beardslee (Tresa). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rossell Funeral Home (307 E Main St, Flushing, MI 48433). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 11:00 AM at the Cornerstone Community Church (5182 Elms Rd, Flushing, MI 48433).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Cornerstone Community Church.
