He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hamelin and Mabel Hamelin (LaVordiere); his siblings, Claire Demers, Yvette Hamelin, Renald "Luke" and John; and his granddaughter Jennifer.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Bartlette; and his children, Norman Jr., Mark (Kathy), Annette Downing (Steven), Phillip (Mary) and Marie Snodgrass (Jay). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
