He was predeceased by: his parents, Daisy Wells (Loomis) and John Franklin Sr. Wells (Daisy); and his siblings, Lee, Sharon, Nick, Bill, Bruce and Barbara.
He is survived by: his wife Norene Wells; his children, Michelle "Shelly" and John Wells III; his granddaughters, Danielle Chapelle (Kurt) and Rebekah "Becky" Dikos; his great grandchildren, Tyce Dikos, Saylor Chapelle, Maeve Chapelle and Solanus Henry-Timothy Chapelle; and his sister Melinda Spicer (Joe). He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews.
