It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James H. Vanderpool of Flushing, Michigan, who passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his mother Cora Bernethay; his sisters, Eloise and Rosie; and his grandson Dr. Matthew Altenritter. He is survived by: his wife Jeanie Vanderpool; his daughters, Julie Cookingham (Robert) and Janette Vanderpool; his grandchildren, Rob Cookingham (Elizabeth), Megan Altenritter, Samantha Beste (Jason) and Joleen Racette (Matthew); and his sister Linda Dimmick (John). He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Swartz Funeral Home (1225 W Hill Rd, Flint, MI 48507). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
