He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Root and Mertie Root; his wife Beverly; and his son Hughie. He is survived by: his children, Michael Root (Vheri), Laura Yeros (John), Lynn Root (Leslie), Pamela Truesdail, Jackie McCready (John), Cynthia Myers (Jeff) and Barbara Morrison. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.
