She was predeceased by: her parents, R. Martin Gillespie and Shirley Gillespie (Thibodeaux); her son David James Turner; and her sister Brenda Marie Johnson. She is survived by: her nephews, Justin Steven and Steven Loren Taft of Flint, Michigan; and her stepsisters, Elizabeth Eakes Cottrill of Bristol, TN and Laurie Alice Eakes of Evanston, IL..
