She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Hergenreder and Marjorie Hergenreder (Lefler); and her brothers, Carl and Edward Hergenreder. She is survived by: her husband Robert Dale Schmitt; her children, Tammy Beattie (David), David Goodman, Scott Goodman (Vanessa), Danielle McCuddy (Ryan), Haley Kurin (Terrence), Taylor Mason (Tyler Garcia), Zach Mason, Kialye Leddick (Marcus), Ethin Goodman (Holly) and Ally Smith; and her sisters, Rosie Sedlar (Mike Slating) and Bonnie Adam. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
