He is survived by: his siblings, Wietse Schaafsma (Melanie), Karin Schaafsma, René Schaafsma and Victor Schaafsma; his sister-in-law Rebecca Schaafsma; his nieces and nephews, Cora, Jason, Adriane, Chris, Jessica and Dale; and his stepmother Henny Schaafsma.
