He was predeceased by: his mother Jeanne Pettengill (Jacobsen); his brothers, Mark and Tom; and his close friend Marjorie LaVictor. He is survived by: his father Vernon Pettengill of Florida; his children, Angelica Tant of Grand Rapids, Amy Jo Pettengill of Ionia, Diana Lynn Secord (Trevor) of Mississippi and David Mark Pettengill of Greenville; his grandchildren, Robert Pettengill, Jeffrey Pettengill, Joshua Pettengill, Amber Pettengill, Zach Edwards, Joseph Edwards, Amyra Secord, Addison Secord, Nora Secord, Tyler Jordan Kawleck, Mark Pettengill, Amalia Pettengill, Kadince Collier, Robert Collier and Emily Collier; his great grandchildren, Amelia, Kay-Lynn, Ryver, Lorraine, Marley, Emery, Bellamy, Wyatt and Thomas; and his siblings, Steve Pettengill (Patti) of Florida, Diana Hooyman (Patrick) of Pentwater and Margo (Gary) of Colorado.
