He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Kurnik and Olga Kurnik (Korejsza); and his siblings, Eugene and Geraldine (Geri). He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, James Kurnik (Jeanette) and Debra Flickinger (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Tim, Josh, Noah, Alex, Anthony, Evan and Tia.
