He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph DeFina and Rose DeFina; and his former wife Doris DeFina. He is survived by: his wife Kathy DeFina; his children, Dolores Anne DeFina and Stephen Thomas DeFina (Heidi); his stepdaughter Nicole Merie Wheeler; his grandchildren, Shawn, Luke, Jackson, Xavier, Gabriel, Jasmine, Kailani and Morningstarr; and his brother John DeFina (Betty). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
