He was predeceased by: his parents, Murlin Tatro and Doris Tatro (Ross); his former wife Antoinette Candela; his siblings, Greg Tatro and Judy Tatro; and his stepson Michael Lavigne.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Tatro of Fenton; his children, Maria Giggy (Daniel) of Holt and Edward Tatro (Dawn) of Denver, CO; his stepson Joseph Lavigne (Lisa) of Farmington Hills; his daughter-in-law Beth Lavigne; and his brothers, Richard Tatro (Carol) and Terry Tatro (Linda). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to MSAA (Multiple Sclerosis Association of America).
