She was predeceased by: her parents, Marlow Mathew and Eva Elizabeth Schuler (Smith); her former husband Robert Frank Zelenka; her husband William S. Freas; her siblings, Marlow and Judith; her son Michael Drew Zelenka; and her stepson David Freas.
She is survived by: her daughter Kim Beare (Les); her grandchildren, Kristen Byers (Craig Noble), Kathryn Myers (Brandon), Camille Byers (Gabe Schwartz), Rebecca Freas, Melissa Salvato (Anthony), Adam Beare and Megan Beare (Patrick Carruthers); and her great grandchild Bentley Freas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Fenton United Methodist Church (119 S Leroy St, Fenton, MI 48430). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In remembrance of Marlene's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Fenton United Methodist Church.
