He is survived by: his children, Stacie Curtis (Jason) and Devon Shaffer (Mary); his grandchildren, Austin, Eli Curtis, Ben and Kaiden Shaffer; his siblings, Sharon Hummer, James Mapes (Cindy), Jean Andreasen (John), Gerald Shaffer (Deborah), Marie Bebeau (Roger), Dianna McManus and Terry Shaffer (Dawn); and his nephew Buck.
