He was predeceased by: his parents, James Purrenhage and Mary Lou Purrenhage. He is survived by: his siblings, James Purrenhage (Mae), Sara Anderson (Anthony), Karen Chicosky (Stephen), Molly Ashley (Jason) and Benjamin Purrenhage (Jennifer). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Interment with Air Force Military Honors will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery, 600 N. Adelaide Street in Fenton following Mass. The family requests that donations be made in Joe's memory to St. Matthews, Flint Institute of Arts, or Hillsdale College, reflecting his lifelong passions and values.
