He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Woodward and Beatrice Woodward; and his siblings, James and Betty Ann. He is survived by: his wife Zorina; his children, John Woodward Jr. and Shelly Payne (Robert); and his grandson Joshua Loewen (Chessie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
