She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Furniss and Bernice Furniss; her husband Col. Elmer "Zeke" Ellis; and her siblings, Robert Furniss and Vesta LaZebnik.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Bruce Leitkam (Mary), Sharon Capobianco (Tony), Carol Leitkam (Dan Asher) and Deborah Leitkam; her stepson Col. Gary Ellis (Susan); and her sister Barbara Bauer (Chris). She is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
