He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Smolarek and Jane Smolarek (Prazuch); and his brothers, Kenny and Alan Smolarek. He is survived by: his wife Louise A. Michelin; his sons, Adam Smolarek (Martha) and Joel Smolarek; his grandsons, Hayden and Luke; and his sister Sandra Poszywak (Frank). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
