He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Mort" Pattan and Mary Pattan (VanWagoner); and his wife Mikki. He is survived by: his children, Rod, Dan, James, Mike Pattan, Kristen Purdy (John), Kelly Marks (Tom) and Kaitlen Browne (James).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sharp Funeral Homes - Fenton Chapel (1000 W Silver Lake Rd, Fenton, MI 48430). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442).
