Carrie Lynn Miller Obituary
Carrie Lynn Miller, age 60, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 23rd, 2021 after a long and difficult battle with emphysema. She was born on October 27th, 1960 in San Jose, California to parents Barbara (Bootsie) Grandstaff and Ralph Grandstaff. She moved with her family to Dallas, Texas before eventually settling in Flint, Michigan where she lived for most of the rest of her life.
When she was young Carrie worked in restaurants as a server, later taking a job as a dispatcher for MTA where she worked until her illness prevented her from continuing. Most of her young life and adulthood, she was a member of the Bristol Road Church of Christ; she later attended the Freedom Center Church when her illness made it possible.
She loved dogs (especially her Oliver), playing video games, and bragging about her great-grandbabies. Carrie loved her family and friends fiercely, and will be remembered and missed every day by each of them. She was an amazing mom, Granny, and GG. She is survived by her sister Deborah Findley; daughter Melissa (Hoop) Jarvis; grandchildren Kyler Jarvis, Jasmine Jarvis, and Kaunda Burress; great-grandchildren Kendyll Slater, Elena Jarvis, Remington Jarvis, and Payton Jarvis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 6th at 9:00am at the Freedom Center Church, 2473 W Shiawassee Ave. in Fenton.
