He was predeceased by: his parents, Wincenty Szkopiec and Mary Szkopiec; his wife Eleanor Harbeck (Harbeck); his former wife Lucille; his son John (Brenda) of New York State; and his siblings, Sophie, Joseph (Doreen) and Edward (Wilma).
He is survived by: his friend Mary Duren. He is also survived by six grandchildren, one great-grandson; one stepdaughter; four step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ganges United Methodist Church (2218 68th St, Fennville, MI 49408). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Taylor Cemetery (2295 Blue Star Hwy, Fennville, MI 49408). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 2:45 PM at the same location.
