He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Merriweather and Rosa Merriweather (Qualls); and his siblings, Katherine Ballard, Pat Merriweather, Wilber "Duck" Merriweather, Jean Robinson, Jesse "Doc" Merriweather and Robert "Bobby" Merriweather.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Merriweather (Angel), Diane McCarty and Paula Merriweather; and his siblings, Jimmy Merriweather (Pinkie) and Vickie Valentine (Carl). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
