He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Latchaw and Anna Latchaw (Radseck); his wife Jean Latchaw (Niffenegger); and his siblings, George Latchaw (Barb), Eric Latchaw (Mary), Esther Slotman (Robert) and Joyce Herweyer (Ron).
He is survived by: his brother Russell Latchaw (Cathy); his children, Michael Latchaw (Pam), Laurie Latchaw and Lisa Latchaw; his grandchildren, Ryan Latchaw, Alexis Delacruz and Amanda Latchaw; and his great grandchild Liliana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eugene's name to the Ganges Township Firefighters (c/o Ganges Fire Station, 6957 114th Avenue, South Haven, MI 49090).
