He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Joyce and Marguerite Joyce; his daughter Kristin Kolpacke; his brothers, Edward Joyce and Stephen Joyce; his sister-in-law Phyllis Joyce; and his niece Kristin Kolpacke.

He is survived by: his wife Vicky; his children, Kelly Fabian, Kathleen McCrory, Kara Maddox, Dennis Phillips (Trina), Jason Phillips (Jenny Hovey) and Emily Blackburn (Bryan); his grandchildren, Timothy, Kristin, Maxwell, Anna, Jacob, Alaina, Abigail, Joseph, Kelly, Joshua, Madalyn, Emma, Megan, Grace, Lucas, Kennedy and Olyvia; and his great grandchildren, Paisley and Raiden.
