It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan K. Simonson (Farmington, Michigan), born in Kasson, Minnesota, who passed away on January 9, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross Hilliard and Josephine Hilliard (Maxon); her husband Eldridge G. "Sy" Simonson; and her siblings, Chuck Hilliard, Peggy Starkson, Bobby Hilliard (Dorothy), Mary Peterson and Oscar Hilliard.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Welsbacher (late Dick), Bruce Simonson (Alicia) and Chris Esker (late Dave); her grandchildren, Brian Welsbacher, Derrick Welsbacher (Leslie), Sonya Mantas (Nick), David Simonson (Melissa), Shannon Hrycay (Jason) and Jessica Esker; and her great grandchildren, Brianna Simonson, Ryan Simonson, Alyssa Simonson, Jameson Mantas, Lilianna Mantas, Declan Hrycay, Liam Hrycay, Aidan Hrycay and Ronan Welsbacher.
