We are sad to announce that on August 13, 2021, Sidney Kay (Farmington Hills, Michigan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his children, Sheldon Kay and Francine Menken (Steven); his grandchildren, Dayna Menken (Alec Williamson) and Zachary Menken; and his brother Maurice Katzman (Barbara). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

“In loving memory of Sidney Kay, Sharing in your sorrow. With love and friendship. A fine gentleman, with a great ear. My favorite memory with him was a discussion we had on European acoustic guitar music. He was telling me about a group called the Gypsy Kings that peaked in the late 80's that I had long forgotten about. He encouraged me to go back and re-listen to their catalogue as I would likely notice things I hadn't heard before. He was right. It was enlightening. He was like that.”
