She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Michael (Kathy), David, Linda Damlich (Rob Ballweber), Kenneth (Kim) and Amy Bennett; her parents, Peter Smitas and Anna Smitas (Bachar); and her siblings, Richard and Marilyn. She was also cherished by her family and friends.
Among her many volunteer activities, Shirley administered the church's financial assistance program, delivered donated loaves of bread to those less fortunate, wrote Christmas cards to overseas military personnel, and brought communion to the homebound.
