He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter DeZeeuw and Tillie DeZeeuw (Bolhuis); his brothers, Peter DeZeeuw (Lois) and Bill DeZeeuw; his brother-in-law Ernest Mulder; and his nephews, Kevin Mulder and Terry DeZeeuw.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn DeZeeuw of Falmouth; his children, Dave DeZeeuw (Diane) of Falmouth, Dan DeZeeuw (Karla) of McBain, Mary Taylor (Jon) of McBain and Mark DeZeeuw (Karen) of Falmouth; his grandchildren, Randy DeZeeuw (Amy) of Falmouth, Steve DeZeeuw of Falmouth, Brenda Peña (Ezequiel) of Marion, Jim DeZeeuw (Abby) of McBain, Kim, Jill DeZeeuw of McBain, Nathan, Michelle Taylor of McBain, Eric DeZeeuw (Gabrielle) of Falmouth and Amanda DeZeeuw of Falmouth; and his parents-in-law, Janet Mulder of Hudsonville, Jerry Brinks (Sherry) of Rockford and Kerwin Brinks (Karen) of Belmont. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
