He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Nielsen and Dorothy Nielsen; and his in-laws, Mel Smith, William "Bill" McConnell (Linda) and Bonnie Selby.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Nielsen of Falmouth; his children, Michael Nielsen (Michelle) of McBain and Kimberly Nielsen of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Cody Nielsen (Jessica) of McBain, Kerstin Kars (Caleb) of Marion, Logan Nielsen of Atlanta, GA, Tycen Nielsen of Atlanta, GA and Sanaa Nielsen-Siaki of Atlanta, GA; his great grandchildren, Tenley, Kade Nielsen of McBain, Odin and Addison Kars of Marion; and his siblings, Karen Smith of Mason and Kim Carl Nielsen (Isabel) of Mason. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to First Presbyterian Church or Missaukee Agricultural Youth Show.
