He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph VanSumeren and Josephine VanSumeren (Corrion); his wife Mary Ellen; his son Louis VanSumeren II; his grandchildren, Jill VanSumeren, Erik VanSumeren (Cassandra), Stephanie Austin (John Ryczek), Alyssa VanSumeren (Dallas), Cody VanSumeren (Courtney), Cory VanSumeren and Addisyn VanSumeren; his great grandchildren, William, Devin, Nathan, Averi and Emelia; his sister Gloria Schneider; his brother-in-law Arthur Stanton; his son Loren VanSumeren; and his grandson Rhett VanSumeren.
