He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Neil Hivala (Betty) of Escanaba, MI, Linda Arthur (Bob) of Iron Mountain, MI and Karen Nettell (Frank) of Marquette, MI; his grandchildren, Karen McCabe, Anne Benetti, Dan Nettell, Anna Parker, Douglas Nettell and Mark Nettell; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Lily, Elizabeth, Finn, Max and Elina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
