He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Demerse and Valeria Demerse Sr. (Dault); his wife Josephine Casey; his siblings, Edward Demerse Jr. (Marianne) and Marilyn Labre (George); and his nephews, Bob and Jim Demerse.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Demerse (Julie) of Modesto, CA and Kim Demarse of Escanaba; his grandchildren, Brian Dubord (Brandy), Mark Dubord, Justin Demerse (Samantha) and Ryan Demerse; his great grandchildren, Taylor LaVigne (Matt), Matt Dubord, Madison Fix (Hunter), Brendon Dubord (Ally), Austin Dubord and Katelyn Dubord; and his great great grandchild Asher Dubord. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
