He is survived by: his parents, Michael Summers and Phyllis Summers; his wife Laurie Summers (Maycroft); his children, Katie Maycroft (David Wro), Sara Parrott (Tyler) and John Summers, Jr. (Brianna Joncas); his granddaughters, Lee, Averi and Charlotte; and his siblings, Barbara Fleury (Walter), Diane Buckland (Mike), Mary Smith (Randy), Karen Smith (Greg) and Michael Summers (Janice). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
