He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Gibala and Stella Gibala. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Gibala (Weiss); his daughters, Rosemary Josey and Sophia Maitland (Douglas); and his grandchildren, Sienna Maitland, Dylan Josey, Alyssa "Minnie" Josey and Alexander "Caveman" Maitland.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Sujkowski Funeral Home (114 E Alexis Rd, Toledo, OH 43612). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (2214 Manhattan St, Erie, MI 48133).

Memorial donations may be given to the Echoes of Poland Folk Song & Dance Ensemble, or PRCUA.
