With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Norman Dean Smith of Erie, Michigan, born in Monroe, Michigan, who passed away on August 31, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman William and Mable Irene Smith (Fairchild); his children, Carol Ann Darr and Christopher Smith; and his siblings, Jean Hartsell, Merle Richard Smith and Dolores Peckham.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou; his daughter April Smith; his daughters-in-law, Michele Miles and Kristine Smith; his brother Clyde William Smith; his grandchildren, Heather Campbell (Brian), Brent Smith (Kassie), Brooke Kossman (Alex), Brittney Smith and Rachel Daley (Douglas); his great grandchildren, Graham and Piper Campbell; and his pet Buster. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either, Erie United Methodist Church, Mission Fund, or The Monroe Humane Society.
